Wrapped in memories

I know there are people on Ebay who would love a matching crib bumper, curtain, and blanket in the discontinued Pottery Barn Jungle Animal Velour pattern, but I simply can’t part with it. I mean, these animals were my boys’ little crib friends. I spent so much time agonizing over which set to buy to decorate Ben’s room when I was pregnant with him. And then it got lots of love from Ethan as well. So, I think, the poor stuff will just lie around in a closet somewhere collecting dust. The thought of being able to cherish them along with other baby keepsakes dawned on me when I realized—ah a memory quilt!

I came across the Ticche and Bea website and fell in love with the idea of their quilt kits. You simply purchase the kit and mail them a certain number of fabric squares from bedding, clothing, or whatever you choose. In a few weeks, they send you the completed quilt. Check out their FAQ section to learn about the extra services they provide.

While I’m on the topic of quilts and blankets, check out these gorgeous blankets at Little Snuggle Bunny’s etsy shop. Her shop is full of handmade soft and lush baby blankets. I love the beautifully unique stitching that she uses around the binding. Her "Quilted Yellow Satin and Minky Blanket"reminds me of a baby chick-just in time for Spring!

I spot a whale

I just added this new spotted whale as an option on my personalized hooded towels. I think the pink with the yellow polka dots is super cheery and I love bundling up my own little "bundle" in it. It's the biggest, thickest infant towel I've ever used.

This design will also be available on all onesie and tee sizes soon. I'm working on getting the sample one finished and ready to be posted in my etsyshop.

Newbie

We recently welcomed a fresh new little face into our lives. Our beautiful daughter Elise Rose was born in June (yes this gives me an excuse why this is my first entry since April-ha). She was a bit early (by four weeks) just as the boys were, but perfect in every way. The boys have welcomed her with open arms. I'm mostly surprised at how accepting Ethan (my 2.5 year old) has been of her. Life is adjusting..we're in love.

Expect to see lots of girlie things coming soon as I can't help but be inspired by her pinkness. Working on my "business stuff" as I call it has been harder lately as any free moment is occupied with filling orders. So that hasn't left much time for developing the numerous bright new things I want to add to tinySunshine. There are so many things in the works right now so stay tuned! In the meantime enjoy some crafty things I've been doing to occupy my four year old.

Handprint memory frames

These were so fun to make and are so appreciated displayed on our walls. Can’t wait to add more of them! Hmm kinda makes me want more kids!

Here's how:
1) Trace each family members’ hand on that sticky-backed foam paper you can find at any craft store. I like the kind with sticky backing but you can use non-sticky too-just keep in mind you’ll have to glue each hand together.
2) Cut out each hand
3) Find a cute frame and use scrapbook paper with fun patterns as your background.
4) Assemble the frame as normal with the scrapbook paper in the frame. Then stick the hands on top of the glass which covers the face of the frame. Display on a shelf or wall. Add ribbon to hang the frame for a unique look.
Add a new one each year to show how your family has changed.

Milestones Onesie Set

I’m so excited to finally be releasing this set! This is something I had written down a couple years and two kids ago in my “ideas” notebook. It’s just been sitting there waiting to be created. Each milestone is such a big deal in our house so I created these onesies to capture that special moment, plus they’re great for pictures. Imagine a collage frame of pictures with baby wearing each onesie showing their new skill! I can’t wait to try this myself now that I’ll be starting over with a new one this summer. Check it out on here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5616106

I heart Etsy

Welcome! tinySunshine is a mom-owned business I created a couple years ago out of my love for personalized things. My hope is to continue expanding my clothing line with original designs for the onesies and accessories and also to expand to include room decor. Our website is still under construction. My adoring hubby works on it as his "night job" and its coming along nicely, but in the meantime I have my etsy shop to keep me busy http://tinysunshine.etsy.com. Etsy is a relatively new site dedicated to handcrafted items from glassware to candles. There are some extremely professional and talented sellers there so check it out www.etsy.com for the absolute kewlest most unique buys!
